We welcomed 159,000 Russian tourists to Malaysia in 2025, and we expect this number to continue growing. This marks our 16th year participating in MITT, with nine sub-exhibitors on our stand. This year, we have observed a noticeable increase in visitor numbers.
This is our third time participating in MITT, and we have seen steady growth in the number of Russian tourists visiting Uganda since our first attendance. This year, we expanded our presence with a larger stand and brought 22 Ugandan tour operators with us. It has been a great success, with deals already in the process of being signed. Uganda is now part of BRICS, and we are keen to further strengthen trade and tourism relations between our countries.
MITT is the biggest travel exhibitions in Russia and we are very happy to be here. It is an important platform to showcase what our country offers in tourism.
We have been observing the Russian market for some time and recently began actively promoting Namibia here. Our experience at MITT has been very positive, with strong engagement from media, tour operators, and agents. There has been significant interest in Namibia throughout the exhibition.
MITT is the leading travel industry exhibition in Russia. Last year, we achieved strong results, welcoming 2.2 million Russian tourists, which is very impressive for us. This year, we aim to further expand our relationships with tour operators and airline carriers.
This was a highly productive fair. We held excellent meetings with Russian tour operators and airlines, and received very positive feedback from our co-exhibiting partners, including hotels and DMCs, who reported strong business results at MITT.
