Travelling from Russia to some of Tanzania's most iconic destinations is about to become significantly easier. Air Tanzania has announced the launch of a new direct service linking Moscow with Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, strengthening connectivity between the two countries and opening new opportunities for tourism and business.
According to Air Tanzania, the new route is designed to offer travellers a more convenient journey without the need for multiple connections. Beyond Zanzibar's world-famous beaches, visitors will have easier access to Tanzania's renowned attractions, including Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The development follows growing cooperation between Russia and Tanzania, with both countries aiming to expand tourism, trade and investment. Tanzanian officials have also outlined ambitious plans to welcome more Russian visitors over the coming years, positioning the country as one of East Africa's leading long-haul travel destinations.
For the travel industry, improved air connectivity represents more than a new flight route it creates fresh opportunities for tour operators, travel agencies and hospitality businesses to develop new partnerships and attract a wider international audience.
As international travel demand continues to grow, direct links such as these are expected to play an increasingly important role in making Tanzania's diverse tourism offering more accessible to the Russian market.
