Oman: MITT 2026 Partner Country

The Sultanate of Oman proudly announces its status as the Official Partner Country of the International Tourism and Hospitality Exhibition, MITT. This announcement coincides with a historic increase in Russian tourist arrivals to Oman, marking a new era of tourism and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Record-Breaking Partnership

The Russian market has become one of Oman's fastest-growing tourism markets. In 2025, Oman welcomed 84,000 tourists from Russia, a 147% increase compared to 2024. The number of Russian visitors is projected to continue growing in 2026.

This rapid growth is driven by the opening of an Oman Tourism Board representative office in Russia, as well as Oman Air's transition to year-round operations. An additional boost was the introduction of a mutual visa-free regime, significantly simplifying travel for citizens of both countries.

Unprecedented transport accessibility

To meet growing demand, Oman has significantly expanded its air service. A key milestone was the launch of the first-ever charter flights between Moscow and Salalah in the 2025–2026 winter season.

These flights provide Russian tourists with direct access to the sunny winter resort of the Dhofar region, renowned for its unique subtropical climate, picturesque coastline, and rich frankincense heritage.

Experience Oman: Luxury and Heritage

At MITT 2026, Oman will showcase its diverse tourism potential, from the historic forts and bustling souks of Nizwa and Muscat to the luxurious mountain resorts of Jebel Akhdar.

Visitors can expect:

  • An authentic cultural immersion: exhibitions exploring Oman's deep traditions and its iconic world-class cultural sites, including the Royal Opera House Muscat.

  • Sustainable and adventure tourism: showcasing Oman's unspoiled natural environment, from desert camping in Wahiba Sands to dolphin watching and mountain trekking.
